Arriving in Carcassonne

I got to Carcassonne at 5:30 am.  I asked someone who did not speak English how to get to Couiza by pointing at the name in my notebook.  Evelyne had warned me that people outside of Paris might not speak English as much.  He stepped out of the very small train station, pointed to the right and said, "10 minutes."

I found a bus parked there.  The only passenger on the bus was from Paris and spoke English.  She asked the bus driver where I'd purchase a ticket.  Bus drivers sold tickets on buses and gave change in France.  The bus ride to Couiza was an hour long without traffic at about 25 mph since the streets were very narrow with a lot of turn abouts.
