The Eiffel Tower glitters on the hour in the evenings. I searched my way there to learn that the apartment was just a block away from it!
Different colors of calla lilies - my favorite flowers. This is the florist that is my elegant landmark to turn onto the street of the apartment.
On my way to the Eiffel Tower a vendor on foot offered me some tempting items. I said no, thinking that I had to go check out the ones in the tower first. He followed me. I was surprised. He kept talking to me in French. I turned around and asked, "What are you saying?" He talked, and I told him that I didn't understand him in French. He had offered me key chains for a Euro each. He took five off his big ring of key chains and said one Euro. I said okay. Evelyne thought I was funny when I shared that I had given him two Euros. He was working hard to make a living. I am keeping them all for myself. :)
I am afraid of heights, but I thought I'd go up the Eiffel Tower. It's a treat that I am back in Paris.
A view from the elevator on the way up. . .
I stepped out and took these two pictures before I started getting blown around. Did I say I am afraid of heights? That freaked me out, and I quickly stepped inside to explore the gift shops.
I take a couple more pictures of the Eiffel Tower before heading for the train station to head South.
